Cast

Many changes took place among the cast during the five seasons of Sliders, (1995-2000). Four original cast member remained together for two and a half seasons from 1995 to 1997. Overall, the series had eight fulltime positions to fill for the Sliders characters, which are listed below.

The stellar actor John Rhys-Davies was fired from production and Kari Wuhrer was brought in for his replacement during 1997. At the end of the third season Sabrina Lloyd left the set, while Charlie O’Connell was added during the middle of the fourth season. Beginning in 1999 during the premiere of the fifth season, Robert Floyd and Tembi Locke came on board and were the replacements of the O’Connell brothers. Cleavant Derricks was the only cast member who remained on set throughout all five seasons.

Jerry O’Connell was born in the Big Apple; New York, New York on February 17, 1974. At an early age he tried his hand at TV commercials and by the age of 11 he appeared in his first feature film Stand By Me (1986). He went on to graduate from New York University in 1995 with a degree in film and was also a member of it’s fencing team. Some of his best known works to-date are My Secret Identity, Jerry Maguire, Mission to Mars, Kangaroo Jack, Crossing Jordan, and Carpoolers.

John Rhys-Davies as "Professor Arturo"

On May 5, 1944 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England soon to be teacher– John Rhys-Davies was born. He attended East Anglia University as well one of the most influential drama schools, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Before moving on to acting at age 28, he spent a year teaching. Rhys-Davies has also taken part in voice overs for animations such as Jungle Book 2 and even video games. He is best known for his roles in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, and the trilogy of The Lord of the Rings.

Cleavant Derricks as "Rembrandt Brown"

The “Volunteer State” became Cleavant Derricks’ birthplace in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 15, 1953. Early in his career he joined his father to become a southern gospel songwriter. His father became best known for the song, “Just A Little Talk With Jesus” which was later recorded by Elvis Presley. Derricks realized he had a knack for acting, and he went on to win the Tony Award in 1983 for best actor in Broadway’s Dreamgirls. In 1999 he released his first R&B album entitled “Beginnings”. Moscow on the Hudson with Robin Williams and When Hell Freezes Over, I’ll Skate are just a few of the many roles Derricks is known for.

Sabrina Lloyd as “Wade Welles”

Sabrina Lloyd was born on November 20, 1970 in Fairfax, Virginia. She grew up in the town of Eustis, Florida and as a teenager she traveled to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and there studied drama at the Brisbane Royal Theatre Company. She is best known for her role in the comedy Sports Night, the drama Numb3rs, and Father Hood (1993) which stars Patrick Swayze and Halle Berry.

Kari Wuhrer as “Maggie Beckett”

Brookfield, Connecticut became Kari Wuhrer’s birthplace on April 28, 1967. She attended New York University as well as the famed Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Wuhrer got her first break when she became co-host of MTV’s Remote Control in 1987 and in 1999 she released her debut album entitled “Shiny”. Eight Legged Freaks and Anaconda (1997) with Jennifer Lopez, are some of her best known movie roles.

Charlie O’Connell as “Colin Mallory”

Brother of Jerry O’ Connell, Charlie was born on April 21, 1975 in New York, NY. He also attended New York University and competed in the 1996 NCAA Fencing Championships. Charlie is known for his work in Dude, Where’s My Car? (2000) with Ashton Kutcher and the 12th season of The Bachelor.

Robert Floyd
(1967-?)

Robert Floyd was born on May 6, 1967. Godzilla (1998), is one of Floyd’s most well known movie roles and he has also been seen in TV shows such as Early Edition, Walker Texas Ranger, Dark Angel, and Navy NCSI: Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Tembi Locke

Tembi Locke was born in the “Magnolia City”; Houston, Texas. She got her first break on the TV show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Locke has also starred in hit TV shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210, The Jamie Foxx Show, Friends, Touched by an Angel, and The Bernie Mac Show.
